Interesting as KAA is a yellow ring and makes this all the more interesting as Martin Mere isn't in the NE. Re: Conder to Cockersands

White rings are put on birds of unknown age, yellow ones on birds of known age (e.g. 1CY birds), at least by WWT. Codes starting U, on Bewick's, are apparently Martin Mere birds according to the WWT info. Not sure about Bewick's starting K though.

Sorry Ian I glanced at this and thought you were referring to the Mute Swan.
Bewick UBS was ringed in 1990 and I have a life history up to the middle of last winter when it was at Mythop. Pete Marsh may also have this as I sent it to him at the time. Regards, Stephen. Re: Conder to Cockersands

KAA is a Whooper Swan thanks to some misreading of my field notes. Apologies for any confusion caused. Re: Conder to Cockersands

I think I've cracked this lot for the Lancs Bird Report ringing section!!!
The Pinkfoot is a seriously good recovery, Ian. Thanks for this. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
