Lancaster and District Birding League - year listing with a difference!

The Lancaster and District Birding League exists to encourage people to get out and find as many birds as possible each year. Points are scored depending on the local status of the species, with more points for birds found than birds just twitched or seen. Hopefully this approach will ensure better coverage of the Lancaster and District area as a whole rather than just a few key sites.

Instructions

  1. Download the scoresheet by clicking here
  2. Open the downloaded file. Type your scores in the columns marked "score": the score is a "find" if you find the bird, and a "see" if you see a bird that someone has told you about or else it's in a well-known location e.g. Bittern at Leighton Moss, Med Gull at Morecambe.
  3. The total points and number of species will automatically be entered into the Totals section on the sheet.
  4. Enter your scores at any time using the form below. Scores will be updated by the League organiser (Jean Roberts) as soon as possible.

Thanks go to James Shepherd for today's header photo of Cotestones. If you have a suitable picture of a local birding spot, why not send it to the webmaster, at andymccafferty@gmail.com? I need to resize (and if necessary crop) pictures to make them 600x130 pixels, so ideally send it at that size (definitely not smaller).
